Miigwech for Visiting Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute

On August 27, we were honoured to welcome Ontario Regional Chief Abram Benedict to Oshki-Pimache-O-Win: The Wenjack Education Institute in Thunder Bay.

We’re grateful that Regional Chief Benedict took the time to tour our campus, meet with our President Lorrie Deschamps and staff, and learn more about the work happening across our programs and services. His visit included time with our Nursing, Trades and Student Success teams, providing an opportunity to share both the successes and challenges that shape our work.

It was especially meaningful to hear our students and graduates share their experiences and aspirations. These stories are at the heart of why Indigenous Institutes matter — creating accessible, culturally responsive postsecondary opportunities that support learners and strengthen First Nations communities.
