The Indigenous Birthworker-Pregnancy Micro-Credential course emphasizes Indigenous traditions surrounding pregnancy and the roles of birthworkers. It covers Indigenous philosophies, the creation of birthing plans, and comprehensive support for parents and families, addressing common pregnancy challenges. This course includes Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) language training for effective communication.

Oshki-Wenjack’s Indigenous Birthworker - Pregnancy Micro-Credential Course offers flexible online learning, enabling participants to remain in their communities while pursuing certification. The curriculum focuses on the crucial role of Indigenous Birthworkers, covering topics such as pregnancy philosophies, prenatal support, and mental health.
Anishinaabemowin (Ojibwe) language training is integrated to enhance communication within Indigenous communities.

APPLY NOWYou will walk through a variety of units, each with different lesson styles, resources, and places to upload your assignments and certification expectations. This Indigenous Birthworker course will prepare learners at the community level with the knowledge and skills to provide culturally appropriate education and support to Indigenous persons and families during pregnancy.
