The Early Childhood Education (ECE) Diploma program provides the training you need to work with young children in a variety of settings.

Oshki-Wenjack partnered with Canadore College to offer this unique program that combines both Indigenous and Western approaches to Early Childhood Education as you learn about child development. Oshki-Wenjack’s provides a unique appreciation for Indigenous cultural and worldviews. Students take courses in-person, online, and complete field placements.
Graduates of this program can apply to become a Registered ECE with the Ontario College of Early Childhood Educators.

Applying to a course with an Accreditation Partner has multiple steps:

This Oshki-Wenjack application form will start the process and will ask for detailed information such as:

Fill in a separate Canadore application and send it to recruitment@oshki.ca. (Do Not make an OCAS application for Canadore programs.)

Please keep in mind that books are not included in tuition and need to be purchased separately.
Getting funding for this program?
Contact your First Nation community funding agency to confirm deadlines for funding applications and apply for funding. Your application may only be considered if it is received on time.
Oshki-Wenjack is not responsible for submitting your funding applications, but staff can support you in completing them. You may also wish to apply to OSAP for loans and grants. In addition, Oshki-Wenjack’s Financial Aid Officer (financial-aid@oshki.ca) is available to assist you with OSAP applications and to help you research and apply for scholarships and bursaries.
Students will need to request that their funder send a copy of their sponsorship letter for tuition to Algoma University directly to studentsponsorships@algomau.ca.
The Funder will need to send a copy of their sponsorship letter for book/supplies to the Follett Bookstore at Confederation College directly to Nick Tucci - 0930mgr@follett.com
Please also ensure that your confirmed sponsorship letter is sent to admissions@oshki.ca. You can register for your classes once the Sponsorship Letter is received.
Algoma University’s Financial Aid Office – fao@algomau.ca is available to assist with OSAP applications and help to research and apply for scholarships and bursaries.
