Love to support young people? This program will prepare you to work in schools and help Indigenous children learn and be recognized. As a classroom assistant you will work under the direction of a teacher or school principal.
How to apply

Your Career Path
The Indigenous Classroom Assistant diploma will prepare you for a career in Indigenous schools in northern communities. When you complete the program, you will be qualified to work as a classroom assistant with primary school children, under the professional direction of the classroom teacher and school principal.
In partnership with Nipissing University, Oshki-Wenjack’s special blended delivery method allows you to stay in your home community for half of the program (field placements). You will attend two semesters of courses in Thunder Bay (each summer for 5-6 weeks).*
* Note: Due to COVID-19 all courses are offered online until it is safe to resume in-person.
