Pre Health Sciences Chemistry

Oshki-Pimache-O-Win Education & Training Institute in partnership with Confederation College, Meno-Ya-Win Health Centre, and Northern Ontario School of Medicine, will be developing chemistry digital learning objects to help support web based learning for First Nations students in the Pre Health Sciences program.
IGNITE Boot Camp

With IBM and Nishnawbe Aski Nation, a summer 2006 technology camp for youth, ages 8 - 14, was held. The purpose was to create interest in career opportunities in engineering, computer science and technology and, to encourage the youth to stay in school and to take courses necessary for higher learning. The youth were shown engineering and technology can be fun by making radios and robots. Eighteen young people participated.
Mini Med School Camp

As one of the partners, OSHKI participated in the Northern Ontario School of Medicine's Pipeline to Science and Medical Careers Project, a three-year project. A one-week Science Camp for five aboriginal and five francophone youth in grades 8 - 10 was held to encourage aboriginal youth to pursue careers in the health and medical professions.
