Peggy Wassegijig

“We have great leadership and a great team.”
Wassegijig has brought a wealth of experience working with Nishnawbe Aski Nation and an awareness of education and training issues and needs within the communities to Oshki-Pimache-O-Win since she joined the institute in 2005.
“At Oshki we want our students to have same educational opportunities that someone in a urban community would have,” says the Finance and Administrative Officer originally from Wikwemikong Unceeded Indian Reserve. “I believe education is key to our success. Our students are able to live and work in their First Nation communities while pursuing their post-secondary education.”
Wassegijig is impressed with Oshki-Pimache-O-Win’s high complement of staff with diverse backgrounds and the new programs which were developed since she came on board. She often shares success stories with Oshki-Pimache-O-Win’s partners at Confederation College, Cambrian College, Lakehead University and eight AIC institutions across Ontario.
“We are small enough that we can interact with the students while they are on campus. The students also have the opportunity for more one-on-one instruction with their instructors.”
