Established in 1996, on the occasion of her retirement by friends, relatives and colleagues in recognition of her contribution to Lakehead University and to the Department of Sociology. Awarded annually to a full-time honours student majoring in Sociology (with a Gerontology minor) who has completed his/her third year of studies at this University and is proceeding to the fourth year. The bursary is based on financial need and a minimum 'B' average in Sociology and Gerontology courses.

Adrian J. Beaucage Memorial Bursary

Established in 1987 in memory of Adrian J. Beaucage by his family and many friends in recognition of his contribution to and interest in the Kinesiology program at Lakehead University and in the community. It will be awarded in the second term, in perpetuity, to a third-year Honours Bachelor of Kinesiology student who demonstrates financial need, satisfactory academic standing and who exhibits a commitment to the Kinesiology program through involvement in University athletic activities. Awarded to a student in the School of Nursing on the basis of financial need. Preference will be given to a student who is a member in good standing of the Colleges of Nurses and interested in public health/community nursing.

Auxiliary to St. Joseph's Care Group Bursary

Awarded to a student who is entering the Bachelor of Science Nursing Degree program. Preference shall be given to a student from Northwestern Ontario and this award shall be given on the basis of academic standing and financial need.

The Betty Coates Lakehead University 30th Anniversary Memorial Bursary

Created in 1996 in honour of Betty Claire Snider Coates (BScN 1969) by family and friends celebrating her long-time dedication to and involvement with Lakehead University and its alumni. Awarded to an in-course student in any Bachelor of Science, Honours Bachelor of Science, or Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree program on the basis of financial need, a minimum 'B' standing and demonstrated interest in pursuing a career in health science; in particular, medicine, nursing, pharmacy, dentistry, physiotherapy or occupational therapy.

Established in 1996 by the Italian Foundation, this bursary is instituted in the honour and memory of the members of the Italian Benevolent Society Principe Di Piemonte. Awarded to a student entering the final year of any honours program on the basis of financial need and a minimum B standing. Emphasis on significant leadership contributions and involvement in the university and community will be taken into consideration. Preference shall be given to a student from the District of Thunder Bay.
