Job Title: Program Coordinator (9 Month Contract)


POSITION SUMMARY:

Reporting to the Academic Director, the Program Coordinator will have primary responsibility for the delivery of the Early Childhood Education Post-Secondary programs at OSHKI.

DUTY & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Consult with the Academic Director on all aspects of program operations, including student services, and program development
  • Participate in curriculum development
  • Consult and meet with advisory committees for each program to ensure the program objectives are responding to the learning requirements of the students
  • Promote the Institute's education and training programs in NAN communities and to other learners to achieve the necessary enrolment for effective implementation and delivery
  • Arrange and coordinate student fieldwork placements that may be required
  • Prepare timely, complete reports and other documentation for the programs to address the accountability requirements of various funders
  • Travel to the communities where the students reside for a range of reasons including support, encouragement, instruction evaluation, consultation with local education authorities, program promotion, among other things
  • Perform other duties as may be assigned from time to time to assist in the successful operation of the institute

ACCOUNTABILITY:

The Post Secondary Program Coordinator is responsible to the Academic Director on a day-to-day basis, and is accountable to the Executive Director for overall work performance.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • University Degree and two years experience as a Program Coordinator, preferably in the Early Childhood Education or Diploma in Early Childhood Education with 3 years direct work experience and 2 years experience in coordinating programs
  • Will consider similar education and experience, provided it is in the Early Child Education Field
  • Member in good standing with Early Childhood Educators of Ontario is an asset
